An Evening With ELLE Decoration x Muuto

This September, our London team headed to The Heal’s Building for an evening of conversation with design title ELLE Decoration and innovative Danish design brand Muuto.
ELLE Decoration partnered with Muuto for an exclusive evening celebrating the brand’s 20th anniversary and the UK arrival of two special limited-edition pieces, available exclusively at Heal’s: the ‘Close to Heart’ Chair by Spacon and the ‘Inner View’ Object by Lise Vester.

As guests at the event, our team were among the first to discover these exclusive new pieces, with just 150 numbered editions of each being released globally.

Created as part of Muuto’s milestone 20th anniversary celebrations, the Numbered Edition designs look towards the future and the next chapter of Danish design. Each piece is shaped by experimentation, craftsmanship and emotional presence, offering a fresh perspective on material, form and atmosphere.

The ‘Close to Heart’ Chair is a contemporary design, constructed from aluminium and features subtle heart motifs, revealed only from certain angles to create an unexpected moment of joy and warmth. Meanwhile, the ‘Inner View’ Object is a convex mirrored piece that curves and expands its reflection. Rather than functioning as a conventional mirror, its distinctive form offers a new and intriguing perspective on both the object and its surroundings.

Guests were welcomed by Muuto who introduced the anniversary collection. Ben Spriggs, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration UK discussed the shared design DNA between ELLE Deco and Muuto and the celebration of new design talent, like Lise Vester.

Designer Lise Vester discussed her practice and the inspiration behind the ‘Inner View’ Object. She spoke about the importance of creating pieces that offer more than functionality, bringing joy and fun into the everyday, a sentiment that resonated with our team.

We loved the idea that a well-designed object can have an emotional impact as well as a practical purpose, encouraging you to pause, look twice and experience something familiar from a different perspective. It is this sense of curiosity and discovery that makes pieces like the ‘Inner View’ Object feel so engaging, turning an everyday object into something that can genuinely change the way you experience a space.

It was a brilliant evening of design conversation, celebrating 20 years of Muuto and the creativity and craftsmanship that continue to shape Danish design. We left feeling inspired by the idea that great design doesn’t always have to be purely functional, sometimes, it’s the pieces that surprise us, spark conversation and make us see our surroundings differently that stay with us.
