Curves, Colour and Comfort
– Four Interior Trends to Know for AW/25
This season, interiors become intentional and layered with meaning. From sculptural forms to quiet luxury, these four trends are setting the tone for a season of soulful, design-driven spaces.
Curved & Organic Forms
Veranda magazine insist curves are here to stay! The era of sharp edges and strict geometry is softening. This season, interiors are embracing the gentle rhythm of curves and organic silhouettes. Arched doorways, undulating sofas, round mirrors, and sculptural ceramics invite a sense of flow and ease into the home. These pieces bring a fluid, natural movement to interiors, softening the energy of a room while creating a cocooning effect.
Quiet Luxury & Warm Minimalism
Minimalism hasn’t gone away; it has simply grown up. Woman & Home states ‘warm minimalism is a happy and welcome compromise to minimalism, defined as an on-trend but timeless aesthetic’. What was once stark and clinical is now understated and tactile, infused with softness and soul. This new wave of “quiet luxury” is defined by craftsmanship, materiality, and restraint. Expect muted palettes, almond, taupe, oat, and stone, paired with sumptuous textures like bouclé, wool, brushed oak, and honed limestone. Every element feels intentional, from the curve of a chair leg to the texture of a handmade vase. It’s a design language that says less is more. The effect is calm, elegant, and quietly indulgent, a style that whispers rather than shouts.

Deep Earthy Tones with Bold Accents
So far, 2025 has offered colours that ground us in the natural world: terracotta, clay, olive green, burnt amber, and midnight blue. But this season isn’t all muted serenity; there’s an appetite for bold punctuation. Mustard yellows, jewel-toned plums, and emerald greens appear in accents, breaking the earthiness with vibrancy and optimism. These tones work best when layered: an olive wall paired with a chocolate velvet sofa, finished with a mustard throw or a plum-toned vase. The result? Spaces that feel both grounded and alive, comforting yet energising. British Vogue noted earlier this year that jewel tones and in particular mustard yellow will be popular in 2025 and stated that ‘we’re embracing colour like we’ve never done before’.

Statement & Layered Lighting
If interiors are a stage, lighting is the mood director. This season, lighting moves beyond functionality into artistry. Sculptural pendants, oversized lamps, and avant-garde chandeliers serve as focal points, doubling as both illumination and installation. But statement doesn’t mean stark. The real shift lies in layering: combining ambient, task, and accent lighting to create dynamic, atmospheric interiors. A single room might move from bright clarity in the morning to soft, golden pools of light by evening, echoing the natural rhythms of the day. New technologies make this even more seamless, with human-centric lighting that adjusts to support circadian cycles, helping us feel energized by day and soothed at night. The result is interiors that don’t just look beautiful but feel alive. Homes & Gardens say ‘designers are also predicting more sculptural lights will make their way into our spaces; adding beautiful, artistic touches to a room.’
AW25 interiors are about more than fleeting trends; they’re about cultivating spaces that feel meaningful, restorative, and resonant. Curves that embrace, palettes that ground, nature that nurtures, and light that shifts with us: each element reflects a desire to live more slowly, more thoughtfully, and more beautifully.
